Customer: Zach Taylor

Why did the customer contact Dalinghaus Construction?
Mr. Taylor contacted Dalinghaus Construction when he started noticing that the tile in his floor began to sound hollow in a few areas throughout the living room in his beautiful Anaheim home. He began researching different causes and learned about the signs of a foundation that may be settling. He contacted Dalinghaus Construction and scheduled a foundation inspection with one of our knowledgeable Project Consultants to get an expert’s opinion.
What solutions did Dalinghaus Construction provide?
Dalinghaus Construction’s Project Consultant created a repair plan and proposal for Mr. Taylor while at the inspection. The repair plan consisted of five steel push piers along the wall near his living room and polyurethane injections to fill the voids. With the foundation measuring 2.2 inches of settling, our production crew started with excavating the push pier locations and cleaning up the exposed footings. Once the footing was cleaned up, the pier brackets were put into place using steel wedge anchors, and the galvanized steel piers were then ready to be hydraulically driven down against the weight of the foundation. Our production crew drives the push piers to load bearing strat, which is often bedrock, but they hit load bearing strata between 30 and 50 feet at each of the five pier locations at Mr. Taylor’s home.
Once the piers were driven the home was lifted to maximum practical recovery, and the polyurethane was injected to fill the void created between the foundation’s slab and the soils below it. Zach was thrilled with the outcome and happy that he would no longer have to worry about damages caused to his home from the expansive soils it rests on.
