HELICAL WALL ANCHORS

In the Tip Of The Day for October 23rd, Brian talks about helical anchors and retaining walls. Check out the tip of the day to see a scaled-down model of how the helical anchor looks once it is installed.

A helical pier or helical anchor is a steel pier that contains helices just like screws. These piers are mechanically driven into the ground until they reach a specified depth or capacity. Once the pier is in place a bracket is connected and the wall is stabilized from future settlement.
