Table of Contents

Customer: Margaret S.

Location: West Covina, CA

Project Consultant: Joe Harris

Why did customer contact Dalinghaus Construction?

Margaret had reached out to Dalinghaus Construction because she had some concerns with the foundation of her West Covina home. There were some signs of settlement in the home, but the most concerning thing that she had observed was a large crack in her stem wall, and was looking for a company to present her with solutions.

What solutions did Dalinghaus Construction provide?

Our Project Consultant, Joe Harris, met Margaret at the property. Upon arrival, Joe completed an elevation survey of the home using a ziplevel altimeter. Joe’s data showed that the Northwest corner of the home was sinking 2.6 inches. Joe formed a repair plan that included placing a total of 5 Push Piers on the failing corner of the home, attempt a lift, replace one area of concrete removed for installation, and Crack Repair of the crack in the stem wall. Margaret agreed with the solution Joe proposed and decided to move forward with having the work done.

Our crew was able to complete this project in just 2 days. The first day of the project was spent excavating the 5 pier locations, prepping the footings for brackets, installing push pier brackets on all locations, and pushing the pipe for 4 of the 5 locations. The next day, the crew pushed the remaining pipe for the last location, performed a hydraulic lift on the home, and locked piers into place. Once the piers were placed, and the lift was complete, Axle and his crew were able to carry out the crack repair with epoxy. To finish up, all locations were backfilled, and the concrete was replaced for 1 pier location. After cleaning the entire workspace, The foreman did a final walkthrough with Margaret to make sure she was satisfied with all of the work completed on her home.
