Polyurethane Raising in Orange County, San Diego & Los Angeles Counties, CA
Dalinghaus Construction utilizes polyurethanes to lift and level walkways, driveways, patio slabs, and more. Polyurethane can also be used to improve soil stabilization beneath the concrete slab.
Walkways or driveways tripping you up? Unsightly cracks in patios? We have the solution to those noticeable problem areas, and it is simple and effective. Loose, shifting or poorly compacted soils can lead to sunken concrete slabs.
This shifting of soils is very common in Southern California, with the drought in full effect the soils are shrinking due to lack of moisture, and with the threat of El Nino, there are even more risks that the soil will become unstable. If you are having issues with sunken concrete or cracks in your concrete slab call us today for your free property estimate.
If you feel your concrete is sinking the following are signs to look for:
- Uneven or tilted steps or walkways
- Driveways or patios that are bumpy, cracked, or uneven
- The concrete slab is sinking or cracking
- Soil washout along the edges of the slab
- Continued or repeated slab cracking
- Uneven walkways are not only unsightly but can be a major safety hazard and liability to you.
Simple and Affordable concrete repair…
Dalinghaus Construction can fix those unsightly hazardous walkways quickly and efficiently.
Many contractors still use mud-jacking to try to fix those problem areas. The issue with mud-jacking is that it is only a temporary fix. Due to the weight of the slurry mixture injected under the settled slab, it will only mask the issue of the settling soils. The soil conditions have already shown that they are not capable of the load of the concrete slab (cracks, uneven joints, etc) and adding the additional weight that the mud-jacking process does, will only compromise the soils further. We like to utilize the analogy: “Would you attach an anchor to a sinking ship”?
Polyurethane Raising Service in Los Angeles, San Diego & Orange County
At Dalinghaus Construction, we utilize polyurethane injections under the slab to raise and re-level to an acceptable standard. The polyurethane weighs much less than concrete slurry (4lbs vs mudjacking’s 100lbs per cubic foot) and has many more beneficial characteristics. When injected beneath a concrete slab the polyurethane will double as an effective moisture barrier.
Polyurethane injection can be completed significantly faster than traditional mud-jacking. The drill holes are only about the size of a nickel vs mudjacking’s holes that are about the size of your fist. The polyurethane material has a cure time of a few minutes vs the hours or even days that it would take the mud slurry to cure. You can typically regain use of your concrete slab or driveway within less than an hour of injection with the polyurethane raising process.
