What the Dalinghaus warranty covers, method by method.

Never Settle is more than a motto. Every Dalinghaus proposal carries the warranty for the work it describes. Below are the terms from that warranty, written the way they appear in your agreement, including what each one does not cover. The terms that apply to your home are the ones for the methods we actually use on it, and your project specialist walks through them with you at the free evaluation.

Coverage by repair method

Foundation Piers

Lifetime

What it covers. That the piers will stabilize the affected areas against further settlement. If further movement occurs in the repaired areas, Dalinghaus provides the labor and materials to correct the problem with the piers at no cost to you.

What it does not cover. Piers are warranted to stabilize, not to lift. The warranty does not promise to raise the structure, close cracks, make doors and windows operate, or move walls back to their original position, although we will do our best to achieve positive results. Piers provide vertical support only; lateral movement may need additional work at additional cost. Damage can occur to a structure during a lift, and that damage is not covered.

Tiebacks

Lifetime

What it covers. That the tiebacks will stabilize the affected areas against further movement, with the labor and materials to correct a problem with the tiebacks at no cost to you.

What it does not cover. Tiebacks are warranted to stabilize, not to rotate a wall back. The warranty does not promise to close cracks or return walls to their original position. Tiebacks provide lateral support only; vertical movement may need additional work at additional cost.

Crawlspace Jacks

5 years from Dalinghaus, plus a separate 25 year manufacturer warranty

What it covers. Dalinghaus warrants stabilization of the affected areas for five years from installation, or provides the labor and materials to make the necessary adjustments at no cost to you, up to two adjustments. Separately, the manufacturer warrants the jacks themselves free from defects in material and workmanship for 25 years under normal use and service. These are two different warranties from two different companies.

What it does not cover. Excess moisture. If conditions change because of excess moisture where the jacks are installed, moisture control work may become necessary at additional cost to you, and that work is not part of this warranty.

Polyurethane Installation

5 years against further settlement, 2 years for water diversion

What it covers. The labor and materials to correct a problem with the polyurethane installation at no cost to you.

What it does not cover. The warranty does not promise to lift, close cracks, make doors and windows operate, or move walls back to their original position, and it does not cover soil movement. Proper drainage and water diversion must be put in place after the work or the warranty could be voided. Damage that occurs during a lift is not covered.

Carbon Fiber Wrap

25 years on the material, 5 years on workmanship

What it covers. The structural performance of the carbon fiber material itself.

What it does not cover. The warranty does not cover heave or settlement that causes the product to fail, and it does not cover any area where carbon fiber was not installed. Carbon fiber installed outside must be covered within 30 days of application to protect it from UV exposure, or the warranty is void.

Spall Repair and Stem Wall

25 years on the fiberglass rebar, 2 years on the concrete

What it covers. The fiberglass rebar for 25 years from the date of installation, and the concrete portion of the repair for two years.

What it does not cover. The warranty does not cover movement caused by settlement or by earthquakes.

Concrete

1 year, workmanship only

What it covers. That the work is performed in a workmanlike manner and in accordance with applicable industry standards.

What it does not cover. There is no warranty against cracking, shrinkage, settlement, heaving, discoloration, efflorescence, or other conditions beyond our control. Cracking is inherent in concrete construction. Dalinghaus does not guarantee that concrete will remain crack free, level, or free from cosmetic imperfections. Control joints help manage where concrete cracks, but they do not prevent cracking.

Conditions that apply to all of them

Paid in full

The warranty is in effect only when the job is completed and paid in full. It is null and void if full payment is not received.

Transferable, while your paperwork is current

Coverage transfers to future owners of the structure at no charge, for the applicable period of each method above. Transfers and documentation must be kept current with Dalinghaus per the warranty documentation provided. Failure to do so makes the warranty null and void.

The named methods only

Dalinghaus does not warrant products that are not named above; some may carry a manufacturer’s warranty of their own. This Limited Warranty is made in lieu of and excludes all other warranties, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent state law allows.

What the warranty does not cover

Exterior waterproofing.
System damage caused by negligence, misuse, abuse, or alteration.
Dust incidental to installation.
Damage to personal property of any type.
Utility line breakage.
Damage caused by mold.
Failure, delay, or damage caused by acts of God, including flood, fire, storm, methane gas, and earth fissures, by acts of civil or military authority, or by any cause outside our control.
Damage done during a lifting operation.
Heave, or any damage caused by it.
Damage caused by lateral movement and the forces of hillside creep, earth fissures, landsliding, or the slumping of fill soils of deep embankments.

What you are responsible for

Making full payment to the crew leader on completion.
Preparing the work area for installation.
Any finish carpentry, painting, paneling, or landscaping needed after our work is finished.
Marking private lines such as satellite cables, propane lines, and sprinkler lines.
Maintaining positive drainage away from the repaired walls.
Keeping gutters clean and in good working order.
Directing downspouts a sufficient distance away from the repaired walls.
Maintaining proper expansion joints in concrete slabs adjacent to the repaired walls.
Any item listed in your contract under Additional Notes.
Completing and submitting all warranty paperwork and documents to us on completion of the project.
