A slab pier turns the floor itself into a supported structure. The crew cores an opening through the concrete at each planned location and installs a steel pier beneath it, screwed in under logged torque, the twisting force recorded as proof of capacity, for helical piers or driven hydraulically for push piers, advancing until the readings prove the pier has reached soil that can carry its share of the load. A bracket assembly then connects the underside of the slab to the pier head. With every pier verified, the crew lifts the slab toward its original elevation, watching crack lines close and door gaps even out as it rises, then locks the connections so the slab bears on the steel. The result is a floor standing on strata far below the moisture swings of the surface clay. The cored openings are patched with concrete, leaving small, tidy circles instead of trenches through your home.

Core and install
Small openings are cored through the slab, and each pier is driven or screwed beneath the floor until its readings verify capacity in stable soil.
Lift and lock
The slab is raised toward level while the crew tracks elevations in real time, then locked to the pier heads so it bears on the steel.
Patch and verify
Cored openings are patched flush, the site is cleaned, and final elevations are compared against the starting map so you can see the correction.

Sunken concrete almost never means bad concrete. The soil under it washed out or compacted, and the slab followed. Filling that void lifts the slab back to where it was poured.

It depends on how deep the problem goes. Shallow voids and modest settlement usually respond to polyurethane lifting, which is faster and less invasive. Deep seated settlement, where the soil has failed well below the slab, needs piers that reach past it entirely.
