What to know about slab & mud jacking and how the method works.
Mud jacking is hydraulics with patience. A crew drills holes through the slab in a planned pattern over the settled area, then pumps a slurry of cement, water, and fine sand through them at controlled pressure. The material spreads under the slab the way batter fills a pan, finding the low spots and voids first. Once the empty space is full, continued pumping has nowhere to go but up, and the slab rises a fraction at a time. When it reaches grade, pumping stops, the holes are patched, and the slurry cures into a solid, heavy base. Those voids and low spots under the floor can be filled a lighter way. Dalinghaus lifts house slabs with expanding polyurethane under the slab: the foam weighs a small fraction of slurry, reaches working strength in minutes, and flows through smaller holes.
